Oliver Jeffers x VEJA

In 2018, Oliver teamed up with the French eco-friendly footwear brand, VEJA, to create a limited-edition sneaker collection, that uniquely combined his playful illustrations with VEJA's commitment to sustainability. 

The shoes themselves were made in Brazil from leather, with rubber soles and an organic cotton lining. Each sneaker showcased Oliver's signature, whimsical artwork in a vibrant, all-over print, with illustrations of animals and nature, including zebras, tigers, birds, and more. This collaboration emphasised VEJA's use of organic materials and playful design, making it a successful fusion of art and eco-conscious fashion that resonated with fans of both Oliver's work, and sustainable style. 

On launching this collaboration with VEJA, Oliver noted, 'I used to spend my school time designing gutties and football kits at the back of my jotters. Now I just need to design a football kit!'

Since 2005, VEJA have been creating sneakers in a different way, mixing social projects economic justice, and ecological materials. VEJA uses Brazilian and Peruvian organic cotton for the canvas and laces, Amazonia rubber for the soles, and various innovative materials made from recycled plastic bottles or recycled polyester. VEJA sneakers are produced in high-standard factories in Brazil and Portugal.
